Kirk Pamper
In his spare time, Kirk naturally enough enjoys tending his gardens, both indoors and out. He is an avid collector of tropical plants, specializing in succulents, with a particular interest in Sansevierias (commonly known as “Mother-in-law’s Tongue”). His collection of these plants numbers over 200 varieties, and he travels the world in search of new specimens. Outdoors in his perennial
gardens, he cultivates nearly 75 different varieties of Hosta, which frequently contribute their interesting leaves to Kirk’s fresh floral designs. Beautiful foliage is a quality shared by Hostas and Sansevierias, both of which he admires for their diversity of size, form, color, texture, and pattern displayed within a single genus.
Kirk’s other interests include international traveling, canoeing, and
hiking, as well as more introspective activities such as reading, meditating, and simply, quietly watching the waterfall at the back of his garden koi pond. He draws much of his design inspiration from the time he spends communing with nature.
